Scope of Work for AC MOTOR REBUILD:
- Disassembly: The motor is carefully taken apart, separating the stator (stationary windings) from the rotor (moving center).
- Determine bearing and seal data and requisition replacements.
- Megger stator to check winding condition; Strip stator and rewind if windings failed. Apply VPI insulation.
- Megger rotor to check winding condition; or Growler check the rotor to check rotor condition.
- Inspect miscellaneous parts for damage. Verify machine fits and surfaces.
- Dip and bake the stator.
- Balance rotor.
- Assemble, test, and refinish motor.
- Load test motor; record final data.
- Perform final quality control check.
Scope of Work for DC MOTOR REBUILD:
- Disassembly and Cleaning: Carefully remove brushes, brush rigging, end bells, rotor, and stator or field coils. Steam clean and bake out components to remove carbon dust, oil, grease, and moisture.
- Determine bearing and seal data and requisition replacements.
- Megger armature to check winding condition.
- Strip armature of failed windings and rewind armature.
- Tig weld leads to commutator.
- Apply VPI insulation process to rewound armature.
- Megger fields to check winding condition.
- Check miscellaneous parts for damage and verify all machine fits and surfaces.
- Dip and bake armature. Dip and bake fields.
- Turn, undercut, and polish commutator.
- Determine brush data and requisition replacements.
- Balance armature.
- Assemble, test, and refinish motor.
- Load test motor; record final data.
- Perform final quality control check.
